Box Jump Injury

Been pretty low key lately on the blog.  My days / week in the box is right at 3 now hovering closer to 4.  I need to get it back up to 4 hovering close to 5.

Fun night in the box last night.  We did a lot of drills early in the workout focusing on hip extensions.  A basic drill where you squat down on a box, touch the box and lift feet up, throw feet down and jump onto a box.  Took me a while to get used to them but it's going to help me get my snatch above 225 (I'm just stuck at that weight for some reason and my squat snatch looks horrible.  It is much more of a power snatch.).  So, to the title of my post today "Box Jump Injury."  Normally you see a box jump injury as a nice gash on the lower leg.  Not me.  I ended up cutting the inside of my wrist on my right arm.  NO IDEA how that happened.  Blood really started to flow so I jumped into the bathroom to wash it off then wrapped a lot of tape around it to head on to the WOD.

3 Rounds for Reps
1 min row, for calories
1 min situps
1 min KB swing, clean
1 min rest

I ended up scoring 159 total.  My row was consistant with 18 - 19 calories per minute.  I need to get my rower out more and get cracking on it.  Situps are never fun but I plowed through and knocked out between 10-15 per set (the 3rd set was toast though when I could only do 6).  Single arm KB swings into a clean were fun.  Max set was 30 on the last round when I just went all out.

OHS tonight and another Metcon full of dumbbells.

  1. My box jump injury is typical smashing my fingers into the box because my arms are too long for my body.
