Finally back at the box after at least a week off. Rest I believe is a good thing but I'm not looking to repeat long absences from the box.
Tonight's WOD was 7000 lbs ground to overhead. I had a few options on what I could have done here (75#, 95#, 135# or 155#). I ended up warming up and while I could get 135# up pretty easy I felt that I would be completely gassed having to do 52 reps. Instead I went the path of 95# and had to do 74 reps. What was fun is that I snatched all but 1 rep.
The weight is never the problem. It's the cardio that I have (or lack thereof). I started out in sets of 5 then dropped to sets of 1 or 2 or 3 depending upon how I felt. I did see that just dropping the weight was a big help because I was using zero muscles on the way down.
Total time - 18:28. Not my best showing but one that I can work with.

Mental and Emotional Drain is Over (hopefully)
The mental and emotional exhaustion from my dad's liver surgery to remove the tumor is hopefully over. Spent Sunday - Wednesday in Houston with him and family. Surgery went great. Per the doctor they removed all that they needed to. The good news is that he does not have to take a round of chemo and is most likely going to be discharged from the hospital on Friday. He will need to stay in area for a few days and if all things are good he will head back to TN on Wednesday / Thursday of next week.
Now I can get back into training.
